"How sweet are Your words unto my taste ! Yes, sweeter than honey to my mouth" Psm. 119:103
Today Gramma Honey says, "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom." Prov. 9:10. God loves us so much, He commands us to fear Him. Fearing God will keep us running back to Him in confession and repentance when we sin against His word. If we fear and serve the Lord, not rebelling against His word, then shall we continue following the Lord our God. I Sam.12:14
Father God, Help those of us who have been born again into the Kingdom of God, serve you with reverent fear. In Jesus' Name, amen

Continuing the fear of the Lord....
Do you want your children to live in a place of safety? If you do, you must live in the fear of the Lord. Proverbs 14:26 says, "In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence; (it gives a person deep strength) his children have a place of refuge and security. Of course, you also must teach your children to fear the Lord. Deut. 4:10 and 31:12-13 tells us that God wants His people; men, women and children to HEAR His Word, that they may learn to fear the Lord their God and to OBEY all His Words all the days of their lives. The Lord takes pleasure in them that fear Him and hope in His mercy. Psalm 147:11
Heavenly Father, in these days of uncertainty about being secure in our Country, Help us to obey Your Word by fearing You and teaching our children the same, so that we will have that secure place of safety. As Psalm 2:11 proclaims, may we serve You with reverent fear and rejoice with trembling. In Jesus' all powerful Name. Amen

A Prayer for Safety
Gramma Honey has found a wonderful scripture to pray for protection. This past week we have seen on our television sets pictures of men conspiring to make us embrace their god or else they will kill us. It would be easy to let fear consume us as we are remembering 9-11-01. BUT... God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. (2Tim. 1:7) Fear of man is a dangerous trap, but to trust in God means safety (Pro. 29:25) Let us who trust the One, true and living God, continue to fear Him and the Angel of the Lord will guard and rescue us (Psm. 34:7) Now let us pray together this prayer from Psm. 31:20. (Living Bible)
Heavenly Father, Hide Your loved ones in the shelter of Your Presence, safe beneath Your hand, safe from ALL CONSPIRING men. In Jesus' Name. Amen

Clean and Enduring Forever
The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever: Psm. 19:9a. To fear means to tremble, be afraid, to be on one's guard, to revere. Gramma Honey believes every Word of God is true and we should live it out in our daily lives. If we live in the Lord's fear, not only will He see us as clean (pure, clear, uncontaminated, innocent, holy) but the world around us will see us that way too. Our lifestyle, speech and hopefully the way we dress will be different from theirs. They might make fun of us but perhaps secretly they admire us for living what we say we believe. Living in His fear causes us to endure (stand, abide, continue) forever. Hallelujah !
Great and Mighty God, You are worthy to be feared. Give us understanding that it is for our good to fear You. It will keep us close to You in a safe place and that's what You desire. We pray this is Jesus' Name. Amen.
